Scot-Modalloy-Boron (3% )



Scot-Modalloy-Boron (tablet) is an excellent additive for Aluminium conductor grade rods and wires for improving conductivity and grain refinement. The boron addition helps in precipitating detrimental elements like V, Ti, etc. in turn affect the conductivity. Further, the addition also help in improving the grain size, without the use of Titanium.

Scot-Modalloy-Boron contains usually 3% Boron which improves the metallurgical properties of the cast along with the enhancement in conductivity.

Instructions for use
Prepare the required alloy composition. Follow the normal fluxing and cleaning procedure as recommended. Degas the melt with tablet degaser or by mobile degassing unit and dross off by using small quantity of coverflux. After the degassing operation, add Scot-Modalloy-Strontium at an application rate of 0.25 to 0.40 by weight at temperatures between 700-750 Deg C. (Do not use Titanium base grain refiner) Rabble the melt to ensure homogeneity, wait for 5 to 10 min. then use.
