Scot-H-Cote 100 (Water Based Zircon Coating)


Scot-H-Cote 100 is a ready-for-use, water based, zircon coating.

It is suitable for use on most sand binder backgrounds and for almost all metals cast, including critical jobs in vast iron and steel. Compared to conventional dressings, Scot-H-Cote 100 has superior application characteristics and gives an improved casting surface finish. The material is off-white in color.

Instructions for use
  • Brush directly from can without any dilution or machine mixing. Where necessary, spray after dilution 8 parts of Scot-H-Cote 100 with 1 part of water.

  • Torch or even bake the coated mould / cores after air drying for 15 to 20 minutes.

Store in cool dry place and stir well before use.

Scot-H-Cote 100 is also available in 40 Kg polybuckets (40 Kg +/-0.4 Kg.)
Shelf life and storage
Scot-H-Cote 100 has a shelf life of 6 months and store the tins in air tight condition.
Precaution
  • Replace the lid of the tin immediately after use to avoid drying of the coating.

  • Do not dilute the content of the coating as too much water will impair suspension and increase penetration into the core or mould. Some sand bonds are softened by excess spirit.

  • As far as possible, avoid contact with skin and protect eyes from spillage. In case of contact with skin, wash with water immediately.
